I was here often for some great Arabic coffee and delicious baklava, but finally I felt compelled to try one of their main things. my only regret is that I didn't do it earlier! I had the kofta and can't wait to go to another. delicious lamb meatballs served with potato, tomato sauce and crumb infused brot.
Overall the service was great, eating was delicious with huge portions and great aromes. we enjoyed the chili puwn tagins, which was super spicy but delicious. it was filled with many different sweet and perfectly cooked garnels. it is worth getting an ayran or a limonade to cool the mouth! the brote were freshly cooked right in front of us in the open kitchen. the dives were fantastic, especially the baba ganoush that didn't last long. make sure they are hungry, as the portions are large and many dings come with broth. the fataya was delicious, especially the spinat and cheese one. with two pescatarians and a vegan, we were spoiled for choice, no wonder za’atar bake is always recommended as one of the best restaurants for vegans in oxford. we will definitely come back in dine, or with the purchase of taking, and cannot wait to more dishes (and the desserts and coffee! .
We ordered vegetarian and lammmaqloubah. the spice for both is good, the sauce (salty yogurt with gurke) especially refreshing. but the part is actually small for the price. my friend finds the vegetarian a tasty; for me, it's a little too dry. There are also only two pieces of aubergine and one slice of tomato in the lamb one, while the promised cauliflower cannot be seen. service is very good. suitable before the often, they can also see how their dishes were made, which is pleasant and entertaining. overall I like the ambiente, but the background music is too loud. you have to raise your voice that speaks to your companion. that means I want to visit the place again. the daily and flatbread on other tables all look very delicious.
Wow! really amazing restaurant! the personal is friendly and eating is amazing. the decor is also really good. it is not a very large restaurant, so I would suggest a reservation for groups greater than 3. we had the huh maqloubah and the lame chili fatayer. both dishes were good and large portions. a must visit when they are in cowley!
This was an awesome experience having piping hot Middle Eastern delight's. We ordered veg moussaka, spinach and cheese fatayer, veg manakish and a rice dish the name of which eludes me
