A bit pricier than other places in chatty but if you know what youre getiing you can still get a good meal for relatively ok price Pho is standard choice and the tomato rice with crispy chicken is also delicious, love the fried chicken wings. These three are best choice imo, Otherwise eveything else is quite expensive but the taste is decent Recommend for a quick meal as its not as packed as others and tastes pretty gd
Golden Bo is your classic Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant before all the trendy places popped up around Sydney and Chatswood. You tend to come here more for the Vietnamese dishes than the Chinese dishes as this is where they shine most. You would normally find this type of restaurant out west where they serve unpretentious good old fashioned Vietnamese cuisine. The only issue is the 'Chatswood premium' you pay being approximately 20% more than out west so it sits uncomfortable in this regard. However, this is not the west so you become resigned to that fact if you choose to eat here. I have frequented GB many times in the past and think their non soup dishes are far better than their soups. Com Tam Dac Biet - Grilled pork chop combination with rice. The Pork is marinated perfectly with hints of lemongrass and honey, char grilled well while the meat is still moist. It's served with steamed rice, fried egg, bei hoe (shredded pork skin), cha truing (steamed meatloaf/egg omelette) and salad. The Bei Hoe was dry and had a great chewy texture and flavour. The Cha Trung was not hard like most and had a good balance of egg, vermicelli, dried woodear mushroom that had the new omelette fluffiness. The nuoc cham (dipping sauce) was the standard fare and lacked a bit of lime but nevertheless enhanced the dish sufficiently. Overall, an excellent dish where every single element was cooked well. Banh Cuon Cha Lua - Steamed rice flour noodles with minced pork and woodear mushroom filling. The noodles were steamed well being translucent and retaining a bouncy texture and not too oily like many tend to be. It was served with cha lua (pork loaf) cooked bean sprouts, mint and salad and topped with fried shallots. Another traditional dish done well not skimping on quality or the many elements it comes with. Another tick for Gold Bo is the proper bird's eye red chilli they use where the heat is intense and the way it's suppose to be!
Love love love this place! Might be my favourite pho place in all of Sydney! The combination beef pho is so flavoursome and not too salty, the portion size is great, the noodles are perfect and soft, the beef is tender, the tendon melts in your mouth...I can’t fault it. So good! The price of their combination beef pho is on the higher side at but it’s worth it! I’ve been here multiple times and the service is always so lovely! Such a cute little family restaurant. Would highly recommend this place the next time you have a craving for pho in Chatswood! Also they do take card!
I love Vietnamese food. It’s clean, lean, healthy, very well refined super delicious. Phood represent just that and ‘Grilled Minced Pork Vermicelli Salad’ was delicious. If only we had more of these Viet restaurants in city. I give this place bears
