Makoto Bento - Chatswood

Been getting takeaway from this place few times. The takeaway menu is so limit comparing to the dinning menu so we decided to dine in.When we first sat down, we realized there was only one waitress taking orders. While 3 waitresses were hiding behind the bar. We waited for few minutes but no one came to our table. I tried to get the attention of the waitress by waved to another waitress (Mandy) she saw me but didn't even bother to let the waitress (the one who took orders) know.We ordered a bento, school prawn, deep fried pork and sashimi platter. The dishes came so quick except the sashimi. The sashimi came after we finished most of the dishes. I was curious why it took so long to prepare the sashimi. Raw food, no cooking required.While I was finishing the sashimi, I was still eating the last piece of scallop, Mandy came and tried to grab my plate. Hello, what was the rush???In summary, nice food. More staff needed

This place is quite popular and was busy at lunch time for both dining in and also take away. Prices for take away is much better value and they have a good selection all packed and ready to go in bento boxes. Most people were walk in take away customers. We dined in - the average price of meals were around $19. Chicken katsu was a little fatty but overall okay.

This is a busy place with both dine in and a large take away window. Bento boxes with add ons and a huge selection. Most starting at $16 and going up depending on what you want. Really good sushi very filling bento boxes. Meal did take a long time to come out but that would not put me off going again I would just allow more time.

My husband and I started coming here for dinner when it first opened. Back then they offered inexpensive single dish options and more expensive set meal options. Then the menu changed. It seemed to have shrunk and there was only pricey, large set meal options on offer and so we stopped going there. Firstly because of the large portions that we couldn't always finish and secondly because of the price. We decided to try it out recently on a whim and found that the menu had completely changed. It was far more extensive than when we were last there and there was a range of side dishes, single dishes, big and small set meals and drinks. It was a big and welcome surprise. We're happy to have this as one of our dining options again.

Visited this restaurant twice on this trip making it now three times over the last month or so, I just wish we had this quality at this price in Perth. 6 of us dined there last Wednesday and had a ridiculous amount of food washed down by lots of beer and at least one $68.00 bottle a Saki, all for less than $350.00. Simply very fresh seafood, well prepared, we will return when next in Sydney. Not the flashest place around but great food and great prices
