Mission Bbq - Charlottesville

Why is everything always burnt or overcooked? I’ve been to this location twice, and both times, the food was either overcooked or burnt. I always order moist brisket, but I’ve never needed a knife to cut it until I came here; I had to struggle just to get through the meat. The cornbread was burnt and extremely dry on both visits. My husband ordered baby back and spare ribs. The spare ribs had a burnt, crispy layer on top, and the meat was dried out. However, the baby back ribs were good, and he’s decided to stick with that order from now on. We regularly eat at Mission BBQ in Chesapeake, VA, and we’ve never encountered these issues before. On a positive note, the cheesy potatoes were tasty!

**Parking:** There's a standard mall-style parking lot available in front. **Kid-friendliness:** It's suitable for kids. We noticed some children dining there, and they enjoyed the tasty fries. **Wheelchair accessibility:** There's a ramp leading up to the restaurant, and there are no stairs inside. **Service:** We dined in for dinner.

5 stars plus a few more for the hospitality! Very good food and service as always. No complaints. Staff is friendly. Food is on par. No complaints from the 10 plus times we've been there. Best BBQ food chain restaurant Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I live in FL and go to mission pretty regularly, stopped in while visiting Virginia. The service and atmosphere was excellent, as I’ve come to expect from Mission. The food at this location/day wasn’t up to Mission’s reputation, though. BPS ribeye was dried out like leather, and the cornbread was stale. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

It was our first time here, and we were met by Bryan. He was amazing! He asked if we had been there before, and when he found out we hadn’t. He was very hospitable. He gave us a good overview of the establishment a brief history on it. He went over the menu options and went as far as to bring us some samples. Food was good, and the service was great from all aspects. We haven’t had that good of service from a restaurant in quite sometime. Very well pleased with the entire experience. Two thumbs up!!
