Jolly Frier - Ceredigion

I ordered takeout from this restaurant multiple times while staying at Clarach Bay Holiday Park and every dish we tried was fantastic.

Lovely meal last night pizza and Fish Chips both really good. Few drinks and watched the workd go by. Great meal out.

I absolutely love visiting Clarach Bay to walk my Jack Russell on the beach. The views of the sea are fantastic, and on a clear day like today, you can even see the Llyn Peninsula on the horizon. The Jolly Fryer serves the most delicious fish and chips I have ever tasted! The batter is crispy, not too thick (almost like a tempura batter), and the chips are cooked to perfection – beautifully brown and crispy, just the way I like them. I highly recommend stopping by and enjoying your meal at one of the table benches overlooking the stunning views of the sea and countryside. The staff at this tasty takeaway are incredibly welcoming. Tonight was absolutely stunning, and yes, my fish and chips were amazing. Thank you.

The service at this restaurant was not up to standard, and the battered fish was the worst I have ever tasted. At a price of £4.95 for just the fish, it was not a cheap meal. The woman serving, named Joanne, was extremely unpleasant and made the experience even worse. Despite working in the service industry, she lacked respect for the customer and seemed to have a negative attitude. The total bill came to over £15 for a meal of fish, large chips, 3 sausage in batter, and 1 regular chips, which I found to be quite expensive. Unfortunately, this restaurant has a monopoly in the area for pizza and chips, so we had no other options. When we opened our order back at our caravan, we found that the batter on the fish was undercooked and mushy, lacking any crispy sections. We used to be regular customers at this site, but after this experience, we will not be returning to the Jolly fryer. Proceed with caution and be prepared to spend a lot of money if you choose to eat here.
