SoLo on Main - Central Elgin

From the charts wonderful eating. appetizer filled mushrooms and calf cäsar salat simply amazing. black pickerel (a special) and beef tenderloin cooked to perfection. here you have to go. I would say, however, that this definitiw is not a place for...Kids, although I am sure they are welcomed. definitiw a romantic date night spot.

Early dinner last week, service was great, dinner consisting of kokos garnelen and filet of bark was excellent, along with a few glasses wein. woman was not very hungry and had a burger, she didn't care too much for the huge serving...and ate the half of the burger, not much taste, but the cale salat and cappacinno were a great time overall

Perhaps its the big fish/small pond theory, I haven't experienced the glowing reviews I've been reading about to be true. We were seated indoors about ten days ago, in far too close quarters. The noise level was very uncomfortable, the room was packed, and the...table next to us, very close, had a foul mouthed woman who's every word could be clearly heard by us. My roasted chicken had an extremely salty stuffing and gravy. The Mr had risotto, said it was good, not amazing. the arancini though, was excellent. Our server didnt seem to be aware of a lot of the specials and menu details I could be wrong, but my husband came down with COVID ten days later, so I wonder. I wish we hat eaten outside, but it was getting very cool that evening.

We visited this restaurant for a special occasion. The food was excellent except they were already out if some options for a 6:30 pm reservation. The restaurant got busy from 7:00 pm through the 8:00 pm dinner time. The service was quite good (9 out...of 10). However, for a high priced restaurant in which we had a reservation, the support staff, while respectfully pleasant, were improperly trained. There was a table cloth dining room which we were unaware of but the young man seated us at a table in front of the noisy bar where one group was so loud, we hardly could hear each other. That seemed to be convenient for him yet that wasn’t a table reserved for us. Instead of tactfully addressing extreme boisterous behaviour, the support staff would chat frivolously at the bar. While the atmosphere is purportedly higher-end commensurate with the cuisine and pricing, there was absolutely no minimal dress code. The clients obviously could afford to dine there, but dirty work clothes and ripped jeans is intended, if that, for pub dining establishments yet that is what was permitted. We were surprised that the entire staff that we saw were also in jeans for cuisine entrées that can top the $40 range. There is nothing wrong in casual attire but it seems that minimal self-respect is a dying cause. The location of these establishments does not call for a jacket for men, by no means, but we almost felt overdressed in one of the most expensive restaurants wearing casual dress attire (ex. I wore a men’s golf shirt, casual dress slacks, and matching socks and leather casual shoes).

The young ladies were smart, hospitable and very well organized as professional, friendly and obviously hard work. our glasses were always filled in great time and eating was plentiful and very well prepared. it should be noted that we are very picky customers. with regard to the quality of food, as both of us are excellent cooks themselves. we went back and were not disappointed!
