Bollicine - CAZZAGO SAN MARTINO

Avoiding the toll roads in Italy means encountering endless rotaries, slow moving trucks, narrow roads through small towns, faulty GPS directions and a trip that always takes longer than planned. Close to 1 PM we really needed a meal and rest room break. A 4 story hotel, with plenty of cars parked next to it led to an unscheduled and wary stop here. The dining room was quite full with working folk and our instincts told us it would be all right. The daiiy menu was dirt cheap. We opted for a plate of pasta and some mineral water rather than two courses, dessert, house wine and coffee. The pasta was fine and we left shortly thereafter with a mini bill of 20 Euros for two lunches. The bathrooms were quite clean, but down two flights of stairs. It's a modest no nonsense sort of place, and it is unlikely we will ever stop here again. But the greeting was sincere, the food acceptable and mission accomplished. Back on the road in a little over half an hour.
