The Orchard Restaurant Events Barn

The service was excellent. Our server provided great recommendations from the menu upon our request. The drinks were wonderful, and the food was both delicious and served hot. I had the ****, and it paired perfectly with everything else on the plate. The homemade onion rings were a nice touch—light, crispy, and full of flavor. My husband ordered the pecan trout, which was equally delicious. It comes with a homemade tartar sauce that is quite tasty; however, I recommend asking for it on the side if you want to fully enjoy the flavor of the amazing fish. Overall, it was a fantastic meal!

My partner and I had a wonderful dining experience. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes, which were a light and delicious appetizer. For our main course, we both opted for a Trout dish, and it was absolutely spectacular. To finish off our meal, we shared the Key Lime cake, which was a refreshing treat. This is definitely a must-visit spot when you're in Cashiers, NC!

We made a reservation that was described as a "weather quota," but when it rained, we found our table had only a small umbrella to shield us. Unfortunately, this made it impossible to have an enjoyable experience. We had assumed that a "weather quota" meant we might be seated in a different part of the restaurant, but it turned out that dining outside in the rain was not feasible. When we approached the manager about the situation, we were met with indifference; they simply shrugged it off and didn't offer any rain check or discount for a future visit. It felt as if they were saying, "We have enough business; we don't really need you." If the manager had shown any understanding or courtesy, we might have left satisfied. As it stands, we won’t be returning. We had visited this restaurant before and found the food to be excellent, and we knew they had a nice veranda. We suspect they had the option to seat us there but chose not to.

I wish I could give all five stars, but just not. We immediately sat for our reservation. The waiter was great, took our order and drinks and appetizers at a good pace. But we sat for an hour for our ducks. When the waiter finally came by, he had no reason why we were late. Other tables literally came in after us, ordered, ate, paid their bill and left while waiting for our meals. No visit from the manager, never given a reason. That means the food was great when it finally arrived. The restaurant is beautiful, so disappointing to have such bad service from a premium restaurant and not even a reason to be given.

PHENOMENAL! Only way to describe this meal. I was looking for something a little special for New Year?s Eve dinner for my wife and I. Choices were limited in Cashiers, but I decided to make reservations at The Orchard?. Am I ever glad I did. The ambiance was perfect (upscale but not at all pretentious), the services was great (engaging and knowledgeable without being overbearing), and the food was fantastic. We started off with the charcuterie board which turned out to be a great choice. The Cesar salad WITH anchovies was one of the best ever. My wife ordered the Silver Run Seafood and Pasta and I selected the Trout Chatuga. Both were better than we had anticipated. The orchard made our New Year?s Eve special and we will definitely be back!
