Yes eating out on Corsica is not inexpensive you just accept this norm but here the Domaine Abbatucchi ensures that it is hugely worthwhile. A very attractive short list of choices all authentic local cuisine, and the main dishes are all based on cuts or other elements of their own reared tiger cattle. Those courgette beignets are sublime; no idea how they make them so good. Some of the veal or steak dishes are cooked on the wood oven in front of you; the veal civet was delicious too. Moreover, the wines are only those from the estate and all available by the glass, and have a point of sale for their bottles to take away; which you cannot buy elsewhere. Unreservedly recommended
This place is not particularly cheap and does not offer a set menu price like many places, however the food and service were excellent. Lots of great local veal (from the local vache tigre , great starters, really good desserts and great local wine. Non meat eaters beware there is no non meat main course. One of our party who doesn 't eat meat was offered a main course portion of one of the starters which was tasty but not ideal. It would have been good to offer a fish dish. Apart from that it was a great experience in a lovely setting.
This place is a true gem. Pricewise its on the level with most of Corsican restaurants, but the food is on a complete different level.! His brother does the wine Domaine Comte Abbatucci, he serves the Vache tigre meat. We had the stew, a beef and Jarret miel. Everything was excellent, and the wine was good as well. Think I have tried 11 Corsican producers and this one is in top 2! Staff was very helpfull and friendly. The setting is beautiful. Please stay away, so I can be sure of getting a table next time i´m around.
