Pizzeria L’approdo - CASAL VELINO

Well, this restaurant isn't exactly hidden sitting right at the road between Casal Velino and Ascea. But it took us some years to discover it based on a recommendation by a local. Since that time we go there more than once when we are in the region for our holidays. The menu offers a wide variety of meat dishes, fish/seafood and pizza (from their wood-fired oven). We have sampled many dishes, discovered our favorites (try the simple but delicious ravioli) and keep being enthusiastic about the quality of the food. The restaurant is very well run and has ample space both indoors as well as on their nice terrace. Staff are very friendly and attentive and some do speak English. Finally, the prices are very reasonable, so even price/performance-wise you can't wrong.

We were recommended this restaurant at our hotel, so we had really low expectations but we ended up coming back almost every night. They serve fantastic pizza, their food was clearly made from fresh, local ingredients, and we had some extraordinary local wines. The staff was extremely polite and helpful, and they gave seriously great recommendations.

Stay away from this place unless you know the owner! Rudest waiter ever! almost annoyed to take our order, made non appropriate comments when some of us only ordered main course. Food took ages to arrive however we were delighted by a very sad singer throughout all our wait... Lucky us.. Never again!
