After all these years the place is still top-notch. the new owner was the chef for quite awhile, so the menu elements still prepare the same. So.

Amazing....simply amazing. the Gambas is from this world. like the French thorn soup. we had the short ribs as the main course and it was.

The hostess was rude. we have a reservation for 4 clock for three people. I mentioned two little dogs. when we arrived, the hostess argued.

One of the best lunches in town for me. The outdoor seating was really comfy, but there's also indoor seating available. Enjoyed a lovely tapas-style meal with a selection of small dishes like Yucca Fries, crabcakes, and miniburgers. It was a lot of food for us, but we prefer smaller portions. The sangrias (both red and white) were excellent and ideal for the hot weather. Everything was tasty. Highly recommend it.

Our experience at Roux was a bit mixed, but overall great. We attended a private event at the restaurant, so it may not be reflective of the standard experience. The food we tasted, including crab cakes, salmon, veggie paella, and potatoes with fingertips, was all delicious and unique. As a New Orleans native, I had lower expectations for French cuisine, but was pleasantly surprised by the bold flavors and dishes that went beyond the typical French fare expected at a restaurant named Roux. The staff was attentive in refilling our wine glasses, perhaps too much so, as we felt a bit overwhelmed by the constant offers for more wine. The food was beautiful and the wine exceptional, but the staff could benefit from some additional training in reading and addressing customer cues.
