Mika Sushi - Carmel Valley

One of the best sushi restaurants I've been to in a while. I've been more than a handful of times in the last few weeks while I was visiting and I can say that I will truly miss Mika while I'm gone. Owners are so sweet, always come up to the tables and talk to the guests. The servers are amazing too, amazing service and always so happy to be at work. Very knowledgeable of the menu and have amazing recommendations for Sake. The Chefs honestly deserve their own review, not once have I not completely enjoyed what I ordered. I can say that I've had the best piece of sashimi I've ever had (second picture). Restaurant is always clean and inviting, it's really nice having inside and outside seating areas. Inside lighting is very intimate and inviting, outside is bright and pretty with all of the plants and flowers. I can't write enough about how great this restaurant is, thanks again to all of the Staff for their hard work!

Server said she would bring my beer over 3 times. 20 minutes later I had to ask the owner and only then did I get my beer.To top it off the waitress said the price was $9.When the bill came it was $13 so I asked if she would adjust the price and she said she can't.To top it off what was supposedly 16oz. Was more like 10 maybe 12 oz draft.Spoke to the (new) owner about the wait the price and the the volume and he didn't attempt to make it right.Were local and regular and will not go back.

My favorite sushi restaurant in Monterey County! Had dinner with my family at Mika and everything we ordered was delicious. This restaurant has the best tempura I’ve ever had because it was lightly battered and fried to perfection. I had the chirashi as the main course and the fish was so fresh. The owners are very friendly and obviously care about the quality of service and food. I can’t wait to go back!

The new owners have done a PHENOMENAL job upleveling this place, making it a beautiful gem. Amazing food, gorgeous patio garden with a ton of flowers and plants. We love it here! Even the bathroom is immaculate and beautiful. Also very kid-friendly with a spacious patio and lots of space between the tables.
