La Spaghettata - Carlton

The overall experience of food and service just didn’t match the price we paid . We were a group of and went in to celebrate an important occasion . The garlic bread ordered didn’t taste like garlic bread just a dried bread with some butter on top and the bruschetta was disappointing . Pastas were good but the chicken pasta had few few pieces of chicken in it . We had to ask for the condiments whereas it should by default be on the table . We didn’t feel the meals were value for money plus the servers were late . They had another big group birthday going on and everyone was busy serving that group ! Not coming back !

Rude and embarrassing service, will never go back, deserves zero stars!

The restaurant didn’t have a table available even though we had a reservation. Once we were seated we waited half an hour and decided to leave as they didn’t bring us a menu or attend the table.

Absolutely terrible experience. Had a booking seated after minute wait. Then minutes before we were served even for a drink. That was after I had asked three waiters. We should have walked out but stayed because other restaurants in the strip were busy and we were hungry. I asked one older Italian waiter if we could order he said I’m sure you would like to order and laughed at me and kept walking. We finally ordered then hour later still didn’t have meals restaurant was now basically empty and waiter who had shirt unbuttoned to groin and big gold chain brings our meals. One short… he tells us sorry we don’t have any lasagne left! Are you serious you brought us dishes and leave my daughter without a meal after hour minutes. He then said what else do you want. My daughter said gnocchi he went to the kitchen returned nope that’s sold out as well! We walked out after hours and very ordinary food. While we were waiting we watched the owner scream at a young confused waiter for not clearing a table. This place is worse than faulty towers! No not recommend.

La Spaghettata was nice and it offered good value for money. The food was OK, but there’s definitely better spots on Lygon St. Service was a bit slow, but, to be fair, they were fairly busy. I was unhappy as we got seated by the front door and it was unpleasantly cold, which meant we had to eat while wearing our winter coats — that wasn’t an enjoyable experience. Would I go back? I doubt it.
