Oktays - Carlisle

I ordered fish and chips and two pizzas at this restaurant, spending nearly fifty pounds. Unfortunately, the fish was not fresh and the pizzas were burnt. We ended up throwing the whole order away when we returned to Penrith. I will not be dining here again.

I am disappointed that despite the delicious food, our order took nearly two hours to arrive. As a result, I will not be ordering delivery from this restaurant again. I wish I had read the reviews before placing my order.

The fish was cooked to order and is by far the best fish chips I've had from anywhere in Carlisle. Had a great chat with the owner about Cumbria and really enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Got a delivery from here, said it would be an hour when ordered. After an hour and a half I called for them to be saying it’s leaving now. Another hour later the food still hasn’t came so called again to cancel, no body answered my calls and the food came ten minutes later cold and uneatable. There was hairs in the chips and they forgot the kids meals so I had a I make them something. Now if I was miles away I would expect a delay but not a 20 minute drive. Then when I called about the kids meals they said I never ordered them so I had two children upset they didn’t get the takeaway I promised them and paid for. Would never order from here again. Avoid at all costs!!!!

Looking for fish and chips which could be delivered I came across Oktays, From the Saint Nicolas area Carlisle. I placed my order just after 3:30 pm and asked for delivery at 6 pm. At 6:20 pm I rang to say it had not been delivered, I was told the order was just leaving the shop, it arrived at 6:38 pm, Okay it was a Friday night so knew they would be busy. The fish was hot but of a mediocre taste, The chips were barely tepid. Needless to say the birds got most of my food and I certainly will not order from there again
