Caffe Impero - Upper Mount Gravatt, Brisbane. It may be located inside your typical, somewhat bland shopping centre in suburbia, this coffee shop provides some of the best, the most strong coffee within a reasonable radius of distance. The staff here must be doing something right, as it is had quite a turnout when my dining buddy and I decided to give it a go. Because he had recently discovered the Veneziano blend, the dining buddy had become quite fond of it as a coffee. Often seeking out the coffees around the local area, this one was untapped thus with an errand done in proximity I shouted this place for some coffee. It has a good look to it that has some appearances of low-key. It is more child-friendly than the competition it has on the other side of the mall with activities to occupy the little ones and has a cash-only policy. What also makes this place more appealing is there is simplicity to it, with the image of cafe-style service. Go in line, make your order then you get a table number. They are friendly and hard-working which adds even more to the place. Firstly, it was an order for a couple of double shot cappuccinos. Of course, as coffee tastes objectively better from the porcelain cup we decided to have it there; secondly, in having it there something about only a cup of coffee feels, for lack of a better term, insubstantial. Thus, a couple of sweets were ordered on the side. A slice of apple pie and chocolate cake were selected from the cabinet. The coffee here, as it was said before, is probably the best in a reasonable radius. To put it into a bit of better perspective, taking that aspect out the coffee here is still pretty remarkable in the very dominant market of coffee houses and cafes. The coffee served here has a great level of strength and a good, deep flavour. Its smooth texture also helps, with perfectly textured milk that creates a wonderful, lithe solution. To go with a great coffee should be a good sweet, and it was as such here. Both the pie and the cake were delicious. The apple pie was filled generously with - well, the namesake fruit - coloured by a garnishing of raspberry (which made me initially think it was cherry pie), and a buttery crust. The cake was practically like eating mousse, delicious and dark chocolate mousse. These sweets were good quality and are worth trying out if staying for a bit. Upon deciding a second round sounded good, a couple of piccolos were ordered. These second tries proved that the coffee here is good. It was still strong and went down the throat in a lithe manner. This proves again, sometimes the best coffee comes from where you don't expect it to or the average quality of coffee is simply getting better and some places see no excuses to not deliver. When in the area, this is worth stopping off at if you have the time on hand. There is plenty of options for drinks on the menu is coffee is not your preference.

We've been coming here since we moved into the area just over 3 years ago. We love the coffee - Ivan makes our 1/2 strength request perfectly. Green tea is bliss..........The cakes and scones are delicious and are made by Cindy. Everyone is made to feel welcome - we really enjoy the atmosphere at Caffe Impero.

I have never published a review, but the service I received today was so terrible and the owner so rude that I was driven to expose this. I assume she was the owner, since no one else made eye contact.My mother-in-law and I ordered together lunch. we have made every contribution to order as we always do. when I explained how I wanted my sandwich, she said, I know very rude. then she repeated this and called her to say I was too shocked to answer. on the way out, I asked about the name of the caffe, and she cried back and shouted again and again that I should look at myself. My mother-in-law and I were both shocked and embarrassed by their behavior and cannot explain their unmistakable. we were once before and received a beautiful service from the male barista.This terrible experience ruined my day and we will never go there again.
