Seaview Deli Cafe - Cardwell

Lunch today. Fish and chips. Awful batter. The lettuce was the only readily edible thing on my plate. Several uncleared tables when we arrived. None had been cleared by the time we left. The staff were pleasant but the place is awful for eating.

This place stays open only because the busses stop here full of back packers. Food is soooooo bad I can't believe the **** they serve is legal. Just absolutely disgusting gives cardwell a bad name. The only saving grace for this dump is the view.

The location is perfect overlooking the beach and Hinchinbrook island. The service was good and quite fast given the number of people.The food was however a little disappointing fish and chips which is the most popular had a big hard crust...The fresh crab sandwiches was fresh and had crab meat and bread for sure but nothing else ....a bit plain but plentiful. Over all as a family we enjoyed it for the outing not necessarily the food.

Ordered the "crab" burger and received a sloppy patty that had no resemblance to crab! Totally misleading and yuk! Go elsewhere!

Chicken with avocado foccacia was very nice. Probably a little over the top in price at $7 as it was only for half a one. But half was plenty big enough as that's the sure of a normal roll. But its a roadside cafe ... it's expected to be a bit more expensive. Prices were shown on it. My coffee was quite fine, too. Not the best I've had but quite ok.Service was very friendly. I'm nor sure about the efficiency of double writing everything (one for the kitchen and longer for the cashier). Perhaps that could be done differently to make it a bit more efficient. Even if just a total was sent on a piece of paper to the front instead of writing the whole order out again. As it stands, I was happy enough with my food, coffee and the very friendly service. Thank you!
