Geisha Japanese Tea House- Capitola

I am extremely pleased with the variety of vegan and vegetarian sushi options available at Geisha. My friend and I decided to split our order, choosing a couple of vegan sushi rolls, the seaweed salad, and the vegetable tempura. It was convenient and helpful that everything was clearly marked as vegan. I particularly enjoyed the South Gate roll ($8.50) with its creamy avocado, tomatoes, burdock, and spicy mayo – it had a nice kick to it! Another favorite of mine was the Tigger, Too roll ($8.50) with tempeh, baked tofu, macadamia nuts, negi, and oyster mushrooms. Our meal began with a complimentary bowl of miso soup, setting a great tone for the rest of the meal. The vegetable tempura was also delicious, with lightly battered and generously portioned slices of various vegetables.

The prices were higher than expected. The meal ended up costing $3 more than anticipated, with the total coming to $19 instead of $16. While the sushi was flavorful and unique, it wasn't exceptional and was on the pricier side at $20 for a snack. The customer service at the register was not great, but not horrible either. I will likely choose a different restaurant next time. Overall, the sushi satisfied my craving, but there are better options available.

Was traveling up to NorCal and haven’t had sushi really since I have become vegan 2 years ago. I came here and there was a ton of options. We sat at the sushi bar. I had a goblin roll plus the garden something roll. All options I am sure are delicious. Can’t wait to come back!!

Plenty of vegan sushi options, with unusual flavors that somehow work out really well. For example, peeled marinated red peppers make for great fish like texture. Also: Japanese yellow curry on a sushi roll an obvious combo in hindsight, but it was the first time we had it. Nice to find a quiet place to sit and sip tea in the busy Capitola Beach area.

Had been on norcal and had no sushi really been vegan 2 years ago. I came here and there were a lot of options. we sat in the sushi bar. I had a gondola roll and the garden a little rolling. all the options I am sure are delicious. can't wait to come back!
