Caffe' Centrale - Capaccio

We came here last night on the recommendation of a local. It was a cold September night and we were basically the only patrons in the new large portion of the restaurant. Our incredible server, Mariagrazia made the night so special. Here recommendations were spot on, for both our food and wine. The antipasti platter for 2 was amazing. Each and every item this massive plate was locally sourced and delicious A handmade fusilli pasta with ragu was incredible! The pasta had amazing chew and the ragu were chunks of homemade meats like sausage etc. We were stuffed at this point but has to try their pizza. Mariagrazia was kind enough to make us a “small pie” which was perfect. All in all we were blown away by the quality of the food and the wonderful service. Bravo and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

During our stay in paestum we were looking for a good and not too expensive place to eat. friends recommended caffe centrale and we gave it a try. out of all the places I have been near paestum also places near the sea this was my favorite! the waitress was extremely friendly, the pizza one of the best I ever had and the price was extremely fair, too. also capaccio, the town on the hill, is very, very beautiful. I will always come back whenever I am in the area! <3

We had lunch here and it was wonderful. Pasta was great. Service was very personable. We returned two days later looking forward to a great dinner. We did not have reservations so we arrived shortly after they opened for dinner according to trip advisor which was 7pm. We arrived at 7:15. We asked for a table and we were told they did not open till 7:30. They seated us anyway. We were given water and menus. 45 min later a waiter wandered by and asked if we were ready for the check. We said no we have not ordered yet. He looked surprised and left. We waited another 10 min and decided to leave. At that time it was after 8 and the original waitress showed up and then said she was ready to take our order as they did not open till 8pm. I would recommend going for lunch but not dinner they were very disorganized. Would never go back for dinner.

Nice restaurant. Basic interior with not a lot of character but the service is great! Unlike mentioned they are open on wednesday!! Great local white wine! Lovely pasta!

This bar has been recently renovated and, as such, they thought it would be a good idea to raise their prices exponentially, now much higher than you'd find in similar pizzerias in the area. Also, the pizza aren't what they used to be. They are smaller as well. 5 euro per una margherita? Ma stiamo a Positano o a Capaccio Paese?
