Going to have to try a music show too. Service was great and food was pretty good. I got the Classic Schnitzel, which was good. The Buffalo Chicken pizza, others in my group ordered, was really good. Jalapeños poppers seemed like they were from a store box and heated up, but with the beer cheese that were good. Will definitely go back.
The service was good and the staff mentioned they were new hires. The beer selection was varied, with only one missing from the menu. The food was average, not exceptional. The sauerkraut balls were baked, not fried, and although they were hot, they lacked crispiness. The "German" potato salad was bland, tasting more like mayo than vinegar or bacon. The schnitzel was okay, crisp and well-seasoned. The sauerkraut side was unique and delicious, loaded with bacon. Both items were worth ordering again. However, the green beans were overcooked, soft, and tasted like they came from a can.
The food and drinks at this restaurant were fantastic. We came to see the band Yankee Bravo and they were amazing. However, it was inconvenient that you had to go upstairs to order food and then bring it back downstairs. It seems like an unnecessary obstacle for customers. The building itself is beautiful though.
The beer selection was excellent and the location was even better. The atmosphere was very cool. Don't forget to visit the downstairs bathroom, it's worth it. The pretzels and sauerkraut balls were both delicious. The Icarus double IPA was particularly enjoyable.
On Friday night at 7:00 p.m., the restaurant was not as busy as we had expected. We had visited months before and it was always packed. We didn't think much of it and sat down to eat. The service was okay, but when we received the bill, we noticed that it seemed a bit high. We compared the prices on the menu and realized that we were charged more for some items than listed. When I asked the server about it, he became defensive and angry, mumbling something under his breath about it being my fault. As we were leaving, I decided to speak to a manager about the issue. I approached the bartender (who seemed more experienced than the other staff) and asked if he was the manager. He denied it and pointed to our server as the manager. When I confronted the server, he looked at me coldly and asked us to leave quietly, saying thank you and suggesting that we not return. I have never experienced such rude behavior before. It seems like they may have been having a slow night on a Friday. We do not plan on returning to this restaurant.
