PappaRich - Canberra

Very Disappointed! They served raw chicken meat in the rice noodle dish. And I found a sizeable piece of plastic in a pudding I was eating. The food was not expected! Not recommended!

So let's start with the obvious: PappaRixh is a chain restaurant and there are plenty of them right across Australia (and other countries). Fortunately, that's for a good reason. The restaurant was bustling after work on Friday night. After queuing for 5 minutes, we were seated. The ordering system is quite efficient, but don't expect much assistance in navigating the menu. That being said, ordering is simple enough. The Beef Rendang with Roti Bawang was excellent. Hot and soft roti served with a fiery, flavoursome rendang, with accompaniments. To be honest, I was expecting a slightly larger serve, but the size was certainly reasonable. The Teh Tarik was also reasonable enough, but not a standout. Overall, PappaRich offered good value for money, quick service and a fast, tasty meal. I would return for a quick, casual meal.

Supposedly closes at 22:00, but arrived at 21:06 for them to condescendingly tell me the kitchen is closed! More than 50 minutes to close a kitchen? What a ridiculous restaurant. Staff are a joke and rude. I'm boycotting this franchise.

The food is really good, the prices are great and the service is really quick, their doorbell system for each table works really well, will definitely be returning.

On the ground floor of Canberra centre in Civic, this branch is packed with people at all times. Service is attentive and super efficient. The nasi lemak is great, the roti telur bawang divine (especially with the beef rendang or the chicken curry). I usually have a lychee soda to finish off the meal. Great value for money for good food. Recommended!
