We were there over the week around ANZAC Day, so, as expected the Pub areas downstairs would be busy and noisy, as it's a very popular place to be! Wasn't expectant of a posh stay, but it turned out pretty comfy, and positively accessible to Street shopping, and the train station. Low cost of stay = no aircon nor microwave, but in Sydney there's that abundance of eat-out places on every block every street. Room plenty big enough, and the mobile heater did it's job well.WiFi (free) worked very well in the room. This WiFi access was better than I had expected, as the pre-booking advertising I had, said the WiFi (free) was (only) available in the Public area :) Good security, with Guests having a dedicated separate secure entrance/exit for after-hours. Internal entrance is alarmed for out of hours, so before 9am, the Instructions reminded you to 'not' try the internal door before that time! For the first nights we used the 'poky' shared showers, but then discovered the massive shower/toilet room up the far end of the corridor (big enough that a whole family could have lived in it, and comfortably! Our family arrived at Sydney in late Feb. Pleased to find Campsie Hotel to accommodate. Though the toilet and shower are shared, rooms are neat and clean. Price are acceptable. The location of this hotel are excellent, 6 minutes by walk to train station and bus station. Convenient to downtown, resort or airport. I will stay here next time when I come to Sydney.

Room was clean and comfortable. Ok, a bit noisy outside from pub sometimes, but didn't disturb me much. A bit unorthodox with no "normal" reception but it worked for me. Bathroom was sometimes a bit messy, but it's shared so I blame other residents. Liked the stay, area was great for getting cheap and good food.Good value for money.

Place was clean and vicinity is safe, location is great! Friendly staff too and will definitely go back!
