Izakaya Shogun - Camperdown

I absolutely love this place! I usually order sushi, and I'm never disappointed. They always exceed my expectations!

Another issue is their puzzling opening hours. They seem to open for lunch on weekends but are closed at midday on Mondays. It leaves me wondering if they truly value their customers’ business, or if I’m just not understanding their approach to running a restaurant.

The food here is excellent, but the staff seem overly focused on takeout orders, often neglecting customers dining in. I would rate the food 4/5, service 2/5, and atmosphere 3/5. Overall, I wish they paid more attention to in-house diners.

This used to be a really great place but unfortunately due to consistently being understaffed and prioritising takeaways the dining experience at Shogun is no longer good. Last night we waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for our mains. Really disappointing.

Izakaya is the perfect example of good quality produce converted to amazing cuisine wow! The nigiri board was unreal as well as the miso soup and agadashi tofu. The Japanese beers made for the perfect accompaniment for a great meal out
