I have to say, I have been to a lot of restaurants, and I have never had such a good experience than eating at Agra. I am a student living in Warren Street, and cone to this restaurant at least twice a month. Every time i come in, the owner Taj greets me in a very friendly way and we spark up nice conversations. I always get the lamb briyani (my favourite dish). Highly recommend for takeout, dine in with friends and family, etc. Thanks Taj!
A nice, no frills setting. Intimate, low-key restaurant with very good service and very nice waiters. The naan was fabulous. Cooked perfectly with a great flavour. The chicken in the two mains were incredibly tender pieces of white meat that were cooked perfectly. Could not be better. HOWEVER, the sauce (which was just okay) of the chicken saag was almost crunchy from undercooked spinach, and lacked seasoning. But the WORST thing was the butter chicken. In my opinion, it was truly INEDIBLE. It tasted like nothing but old butter. Almost rancid or something. No spices, no seasoning, no nothing. I really wish it was better because they were so nice, but it was really a giant disappointment. I would never return. Now, in fairness, we only had those two mains. Maybe other dishes are better, but I would be worried.
I have been eating at the Agra since 1970. I still eat there regularly with friends who were at school with me. The food is spectacular, always beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious.
Great value for money, simple restaurant but excellent service and food.
