Make It Healthy - Camarillo

The smoothie are so amazing, plus they are made right on the spot and right in front of you, there are so many options it’s hard to choose sometimes. The loaded teas are also just so refreshing and cooling on a nice summer day, the people are so kind. The minute they see you they greet you with a lovely “hi welcome” and you can see they put their love into making the smoothies.

Camarillo is a small family community and as military service member, I am proud to call this community home. I have not been to any local establishments where I felt unwelcomed because of my race, gender or ethnic background... until today. My boyfriend and I walked in to try it out for the first time and no one addressed us. It was obvious that we were mudding through the menu trying to make sense of it and not one person helped us. We had to engage and even at that it was very minimal engagement. It was a horrendous and painful experience and I'm disgusted at how we were treated. The unwelcoming attitude and lack of interest or help still blows my mind. My boyfriend is native american and I am pacific islander... there was no other person of color working for or in the establishment except us. I hate that even in this day and age we experience this. A couple of white women walked in after he had ordered and their experience and engagement was completely different than what we recieved. Though my boyfriend and I are both service members, it's this type of treatment we fight for and defend. Whether it'd be cultural training, customer service etiquette or an overall change in management, I hope no one ever has to have the experience like we had. Shai N., this was your business. It was a young blonde haired girl sitting behind the counter writing on a piece of paper, a short haired woman with glasses and tattoos making the drinks and a younger gentleman in the back. There was a younger female and what looked like her father sitting at the bar. We ordered the super greens drink and rasberry tea no aloe vera. This was on Monday 12/26 at around 1145ish. We paid cash so I couldn't tell you the exact time. We stopped by after placing our breakfast order with Old New York Deli.

Lately I've been making my daily orders, just about everything on their menu is ABSOLUTELY delicious. I highly recommend, it's a better and healthier for you as well.

Kicking off #ThankYouThursday with a 5 star review that is way overdue! Make It Healthy is one of my favorite local businesses they are truly deserving of 5 stars. Make it Healthy has become my happy place over the last 2 years. I started frequently them about once a week and have been hooked ever since. I've introduced so many friends to this spot over the years and they also easily became obsessed with the fabulous drinks and friendly service. The staff here are all amazing individuals. Always a smile on their faces and A+ customer service. The owner is always friendly and welcoming when I have ran into him on my morning pickups. The gals that work here are all so nice and kind. They make you feel like a valued customer and they always help me start my day on a positive note. A little kindness and a smile go a long way. They work so hard here and are passionate about what they do that I love supporting this local business and appreciate all of their hard work day in and day out. The shop itself is super comfortable and CLEAN! They've remodeled over the years and it looks fabulous. Very comfortable to sit down to grab a protein drink and talk with the staff. They have an extensive menu which keeps me coming back as there are so many combinations to choose from. I appreciate a diverse menu and this spot has the best menu I've ever seen. So many tasty and fun drink combinations. I also appreciate their seasonal monthly flavors. What I would recommend: the Loaded Teas here are beyond refreshing and the boost of energy and hydration I need to get my day started. Perfect before or after a workout to hydrate. These drinks got me through grad school and now are my weekly morning boost for work. Super clean ingredients and benefits for your body. They easily became a meal replacement for me in the mornings and I saw results. If your a first timer my two favorite loaded teas are the Beauty Bomb and Muled Wine. Please give this spot a try, you won't be disappointed! So grateful to have Make It Healthy in our community.
