Pizzeria Ever Green - CALTAGIRONE

Whist on a day trip to Caltagirone, a little Italian man approached my husband and I after our bus tour for a lunch 12 euro each menu in august 2016. We hestitated as we followed him down several lane ways to come to a family run business. The son is the chef and the meal was outstanding. Simple home made cooking. We were so full we did not eat dinner. I had a glass of home made wine and it was so nice we asked if we could buy a bottle which we did. We will return in August 2018 when we return to Caltagirone

We had lunch here prior to visiting the Stairs of Santa Maria del Monte. For some reason not all air-conditioners were turned on which meant the entrance area was quite warm; we were fortunate to be seated well inside where it was pleasantly cool. Fortunately there was an English language menu for without it would have been difficult to know what to order because the person who took the order spoke no English. We ordered pasta with smoked salmon and 2 soft drinks, which arrived after about 20 minutes. A long wait considering the restaurant was not busy. We felt the serves were a reasonable size and the food was hot and tasty. The total bill was EUR16 to which was added EUR3 for a cover charge ; not disclosed on the menu !
