That is no kidding; they need to taste this thing and ask themselves if they want to sell it there and call it a lemon cake. Hard to believe how poor, for $28 for an 8 cake. I got this for the wife for her birthday after she had told me about a great lemon cake she got from a La Plata bakery for a friend's birthday at work. I thought I would save some driving and get one from a bakery closer to home.Well, I just left the table after surprising her with it. After she took a bite she said, is this a yellow cake That's what I'd like to know. I had to tell her, No, it's supposed to be a lemon cake The cake is so bland, there is just no taste of any kind to it. We both agreed she should take it to work. The cake texture and frosting is good, but there is no taste in either one, and it's hard to believe this is what they sold me today with their bakery's name on it. I could look up a recipe online and do better myself. I'll never go there again, and will recommend that others don't either. At least don't buy a cake there.
Other things they have might be good, but their lemon cake is a very poor effort, and I have to guess they put that same lack of effort into everything. They really need to taste this thing and ask themselves if they want to sell it there and call it a lemon cake. Hard to believe how poor, for $28 for an 8 cake. There are mistakes made in life and people have different tastes, and I understand that, and I generally reserve judgement and try to see the other side. But with this one, I think there is no way that this bakery would not realize that it's a poor product, and that the real cause of them selling it as is, isn't that there are different tastes, or mistakes being made, it's that, although they know very well, they're churning stuff out the cheapest way they can to turn the highest profit they can. I could look up a recipe online and do better myself. I've watched the wife make lemon frosting for things she has made, and it was good. This bakery clearly didn't go to the trouble for this one. I have to really wonder what lemon flavoring they used for the faint hint of it you could barely make out in this thing. I'll never go there again, and will recommend that others don't either
Jesus, dealing with this shop is always a headache. Getting someone on the phone to take an order is problematic, and getting off hold before 10 minutes is even more so. I went to McKay's bakery instead and got a gorgeous cake, and with NO HASSLE.
The cake selection was fabulous, and so many cookies
They made a beautiful custom cake cake for my daughters first communion. And it tasted even better than it looked. We got a vanilla cake with lemon filling. All of the guests at the party were very impressed with the cake. Very reasonable cost as well.
