Golden Chicken - California

I ordered a family meal with eight pieces of chicken, but it arrived cold, tough, and very dry. The cookies were rock-hard. When I called to complain, I was told to come in for a replacement meal. The next day, the manager was understanding and apologized, offering me a piece of freshly cooked chicken. I accepted, hoping the rest of the meal would be fresh as well. Unfortunately, when I got home, the chicken was just as bad as before. I will not be ordering from them again.

I had the chance to try both the golden chicken and the Japanese grill, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The food tasted like it was cooked in old, reused oil, and the vegetables looked stale and unappealing. Everything was overcooked, which left the chicken dry and tough. The cookies and shrimp were a letdown too; they were overcooked and barely edible. I couldn't believe how bad the meal was—it was truly an unpleasant experience. It's hard to imagine how any of this would satisfy anyone.

The hibachi steak, chicken, and shrimp were absolutely delicious!

The menu promised crispy fries, but they were anything but crispy and ended up being quite chewy. I suspect the oil used for frying was old and needed to be replaced.

The steak is usually not very good, but we visit this restaurant every other week because my kids really enjoy it. Unfortunately, it's either dry or tough. I even tried the tenderloin during my last visit.
