My hubby isnt'a huge seafood fan, but since there wasn't a lot of other options, we ended up having our dinner here : I ordered myself a seafood grill platter (yes all for me lol and my hubby ordered a clam pasta. The platter came and i was not disappointed i am paying like 50 bucks for the platter so naturally i do expect to have lots of seafood. and lots of seafood indeed. The platter came with large QLD prawn, Moreton Bay bugs, calamari, clams and barramundi. I inhaled that dish and I ddin't spare any parts of it : My hubby's clam pasta was delicious!! even he was impressed, the non seafood guy he is lol. There was a ton of clams for the pasta. However he forgot to tell them not to make it spicy... by the time the poor guy ate half the clams, he coudln't eat anymore coz his mouth was on fire lol. The server was so nice! he even gave us a brand new plate of pasta with another large serving of clams and this time it wasn't spicy!! it was so nice of them... all in all we had a great experience here and it's close by the water so if you are there after a long day of doing reef tours... grab a nap at your hotel and then head on down for some delicious seafood :
This restaurant experience was truly memorable. My partner and I had conflicting cravings for dinner - I was eager to try mud bugs, while he was set on having lasagna. We managed to find a seafood restaurant and an Italian restaurant side by side, and requested two tables next to each other. The meal itself was quite the adventure. It was my first time trying mud bugs, and I was initially surprised by how soft they were, contrary to what I had expected from reviews. However, after giving it a chance and taking a few bites, I found them to be delicious. The portion size was just right for the hot weather, although if my partner had ordered it, he may have found it insufficient. The price was a bit steep for the amount of meat, but after comparing prices around the harbor, we realized that other restaurants charged just as much or more for fewer mud bugs. I highly recommend The Raw Prawn - the service was excellent and the food was delightful. Check out the pictures to see the mud bugs before and after they are shelled.
I went to this restaurant for a friend's birthday and it was very busy. The prices are a bit high, with most entrees costing over $30, but the seafood is delicious. I ordered the barramundi entree and my friends got seafood platters. They also offer non-seafood options for those who prefer it. The service was excellent, our waiter was attentive and made sure we were taken care of. The bartender even made a special shot for our friend, a Canadian tradition. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. It is conveniently located on the Esplanade, so be sure to check it out if you're looking for a nice dining experience.
Chilly mud crab. Is what we had. Taste like heaven. Messy like hell. I picked my own live mud crab from the tank. The waiter told me it was fresh every morning. Super tasty and flavorful. The claws were massive and full of meat. Loved every bite of it. I'm not sure where to get better live chilly mud crab besides here.
This restaurant specializes in seafood. It has a fantastic location and the staff is very friendly. The seafood options are fresh and abundant. I highly recommend the prawn salad with avocado. The prices are on the higher side, but that is expected for restaurants in this area. If you're looking to save some money, they offer a great lunch special with three courses for under $30.
