It seems unnecessary, especially since it would be simple to add vegan desserts to the main menu without anyone noticing. During our visit, I ordered the mockery board and the mushroom and leek risotto, while my husband opted for the flower pakoras and dukkah-spiced aubergine. Overall, the food was delightful. However, I did find some of the naan on the tasting board a bit dry—it seemed to be gluten-free and possibly frozen, so I left that aside. The pakoras were fantastic, as were the other dishes. It's wonderful that they cater to vegans, but the menu definitely needs an update. Despite this, I would happily return, as Wilfred's is a lovely choice for special occasions like birthdays. This is a fantastic fine-dining restaurant with a great focus on fresh, market-inspired cuisine. They offer a comprehensive separate vegan menu, which is a nice touch. The food was excellent; I couldn’t find any faults with it. I started with the risotto, followed by the dukkah-seasoned eggplant, both of which were outstanding.
I had the ox tail cannelloni as my first course, followed by hake jambalaya, and finished off with fresh fruit. Each dish was beautifully presented. If you're looking for something truly spectacular, I highly recommend the triple chocolate ball with hot chocolate sauce. It not only looks impressive but reportedly tastes divine. I thought such a place didn’t exist in Burnley!
The chef is a great definitiw. taste on all curses was fantastic. seasonal, but never too much. great presentation. service attentive and well maintained. the choice of wine and champagne.
Probably the best eating in the Burnley area. quite expensive, but it worth and a beautiful event
