The Mouse Trap Ramsbottom - Bury

The restaurant demanded a large deposit from us, which we now understand the reason for. They were clearly just interested in taking people's money and had no intention of reopening. It is disgraceful how they treated people.

I made reservations at this restaurant twice, but they cancelled on me last minute, ruining two days off. The owner did not offer an apology or engage in any dialogue. I used to visit this place often and it was one of my favorites, but now I would not recommend wasting time or money here. I am willing to provide a timeline and emails if the owner wants to address this review.

I had the Fondue, a glass of wine, and enjoyed a lovely afternoon at the restaurant. Thank you Casie and the team. I will definitely be returning.

We visited the Mouse Trap for the 2nd time, having really enjoyed our first visit earlier in 2022. We booked the table online for New Year's Eve, as we wanted to spend a quiet couple of hours before the festivities commenced. We were told to sit wherever we liked and the menus were brought over after about 10 minutes. We ordered 2 different platters which were tasty but both had items missing (houmous on the charcuterie board and pickles/cornichons on the Lancashire board). This was not a major problem for us. However, we felt that this should at least have been mentioned. If you are a wine drinker, you will need to dig deep to buy individual glasses of even the cheapest option buying a full bottle is more cost effective. Will we come back for a third time? I am not sure.
