My absolute favorite coffee shop I’ve ever been too! My husbands family is from Burlington and we live in Des Moines but my favorite part about the town is by far BeanCounter! I wish Des Moines had some where as comfortable and plentiful menu options like they have here. I had the coffee flight today which was delicious and so nice to try multiple options. The breakfast flatbread was flavorful and filling. Also had the Asian wrap which was very large, crisp, and tasty. You cannot beat the half pound chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookies. I had quite a large order and the cashier offered to help carry my goodies to my car as my hands were full, such nice staff members! I can’t wait for my next trip to this amazing establishment!! 100/10 to Suann and team!
This is my favorite coffee shop. Whenever we travel back to Burlington I want to stop by here. We had a small get together for my birthday here and it was fantastic! We let them know ahead of time that our party would be coming and ordered some gf bars to share. The bars were delicious and I really appreciate them letting us use their space! Thank you so much!
Review Date: August 14th, 2017 All I have to say is… half-pound cookies. No, I do have a bit more to say than that. I’ve been to Burlington a handful of times and since my last visit, this cozy of a place must’ve opened for business… and what a treat for Burlington it is. First off, they have half-pound cookies that are delicious. In the featured image, you can see a snickerdoodle cookie and it is as delicious as it looks. I ordered a iced caramel latte to go with it and together, it was a perfect combination. They had quite a few different flavors to choose from and the chocolate chip was a close second. As typical with more coffeehouses/cafes, they have a small food menu with some delicious-sounding eats. What the Beanhouse brings to the table is they also serve alcohol. Nothing hard or crazy but if you want an afternoon beer with some half-pound cookies, then this is the place for you. For the Beancounter being fairly new, the interior tied together great and it was bright and welcoming. The lady working the counter was also really friendly and chatted us up a bit as we did the awkward ‘first time here so we are looking around’ thing. If you are in the area, this is a great place to stop. Grab yourself a beer/coffee, some food and a half-pound cookie or two!
So this very surprising, original coffee shop is unexpectedly extra amazing from the second walk in the door. I mean WOW
