The food needed to match the decor. My dinner party shared the same critique- the food needs more seasoning. Most dishes on our table looked good but lacked in the taste department. Give this review
Update: 2.27.22 Owners responded about the veterans discount as if I was talking about alcohol.... As I said before they only discount the food ordered by the veteran. Got the check and there was a $2 upcharge for ordering bacon instead of sausage. Anyway, finally made it to brunch. I ordered the **** Marie breakfast for $24 knowing I can 't get a discount on alcohol because it looked so darn good! Kids ordered The Rim breakfast and my wife ordered biscuits and gravy. The blueberry butter is great. The French toast has good flavor but was still wet in the center. Waitress was decent. Service is still slow but we don 't mind since the food is worth the wait. Update: 1.21.22 asked for a veterans discount this trip and BEWARE!!! They only discount the veterans food even though I 'm always the one paying. Since all I ordered this trip was a bowl of chilli the discount was only on the chilli... lost a star for that. Delicious food. Full bar. Service was a little slow but attentive. Soup of the day chicken ratatouille omg! Pot roast was great. French fries here are unique and good. Need to go back for Sunday brunch
Upon arrival I gave the hostess my reservation and she questioned whether I chose the right restaurant or not. I showed her my reservation from Google in which she replied they “One of the fastest technology companies in the world.” we’re slow at getting the reservation which I had done hours ago to them. Solution : Instead of redirecting blame 2 times. Take ownership and say not a problem sir. We will fix it. 30 minutes later we finally get a table. She sits us under the air conditioning unit with fans above us. At this point my wife was freezing, but didn’t want to go outside due to bugs. Solution : Ask the guest if the table is suitable to their needs. During service the waiter came by and filled our glasses with water and right away we placed a drink order for tea and a Hot Pretzel appetizer. 20 more minutes pass and the waiter finally returns to take our order which we both placed adding fried mushrooms requesting they be served when the food comes out. 10 minutes later both appetizers arrive. Solution : Write things down and inform the cook with proper notes to make sure the guests order is correctly presented at the right times. Upon receiving our food the Mac and Cheese side was cold and the cheese wasn’t fully cooked into the meal leaving a horrible taste composition. The hamburger had a jalapeño just thrown on it, the meat was slightly burnt and they did not remove the bacon. My wife’s meal however was fine. I forgot to mention that the waiter still hasn’t returned yet and the meal was brought out by a separate person. Solution : Follow up with the guest and make sure the food was properly prepared to their requests Finally, We finished our meal. I maybe took 2 bites from the burger and one from the Mac. My wife finished her meal. The waiter still hasn’t returned. At this time another lady came by and asked if we needed anything. We said a to go box and the check. During this whole time the waiter is helping other tables. Food was coming out before ours and my wife was still freezing. Finally, After waiting another 5 minutes we got up and went to the hostess to pay for our order. The waiter who was no where to be seen chased us down took our payment. I politely tipped 20% and said nothing. Solution : Plenty of staff workers, proper coverage of employees, and not overly booked. Wait that’s the visibility…. The real fix is customer service. I am saddened by this visit as the chef is a good friend of my Wife, but this visit fell well below par. It will be a long while before we visit again. Goodbye The Rim, James and Mable
Place was packed for brunch. Sat at the bar to have a drink before my party of many showed up. Asked if there were any drink specials. Paul, the bartender said only Mimosas. Ordered a classic **** Mary. Very good and spicy. Eventually I had Shrimp Grits which was also spicy but very good. Shrimps were still plump and juicy. Service was a little slow but all orders were delivered eventually. Do have to give our waitress an E for effort. As well as the Hostess who did their best to accommodate a large party of 20.
(Late review) A few weeks ago, my friend and I visited this restaurant to give it a try, and we were not disappointed! The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the chicken steak, while my friend went for the jalapeño burger, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. For drinks, we had an Old Fashioned and a Marilyn Monroe cocktail, both of which were great as well! Our server, Kayla, was incredibly helpful with the menu and truly lovely. The atmosphere was fantastic; we really appreciated the decor throughout the place!
