I am out past Gainesville now and was in the Manassas area and I found this gem. I ordered my usual, the Gyro Sandwich. I always order it because it's simply over stuffed with meat with the perfect ratio of lettuce, onions, and tomato. I always ask for the sauce on the side as I like to do the pour and bite method for each bite. This location may have been the best Gyro I've ever had. The bread was made fresh to order and then filled with succulent, juicy, flavorful slices of meat. The open faced sandwich was wrapped in foil leaving just enough on the end exposed so you can eat and keep the sandwich wrapped the whole time. I always utilize the white sauce only, and this sauce was perfect! I almost needed more but was able to make it last the whole Gyro. I highly recommend Grill Kabob Xpress. You will have the best Gyro in the area hands down!
Never been disappointed! I have ordered many times and food is fresh and delicious. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
The food is so fresh and full of flavor. The green chutney is so good. Their Kababs are a super hit but their kabuli pulao is on another level of awesomeness. They serve the platters with two kinds of rice (white rice and pulao rice), chickpeas, little bit of salad and a whooping big naan.
As you navigate through the bustling shopping strip in Manassas, Virginia, a quaint yet vibrant eatery beckons the discerning palate Grill Kabob Xpress. Nestled amidst retail outlets, this modest establishment is a culinary oasis offering an authentic taste of Afghan cuisine. The ambiance is simple, with a straightforward menu displayed against the wall, making choices easy yet intriguing, thanks to the appealing photos accompanying each delicacy. This heartwarming dish, a savory medley of ground meat marinated to perfection and grilled to a tender finish, is a tribute to traditional Afghan grilling mastery. Accompanied by fluffy rice, a refreshing salad, a tasteful side dish, and soft bread, it's a wholesome meal that satiates without overwhelming. The Fish Kebab, as relished by my companion, was a delightful surprise. The charred exterior encapsulated a juicy, flaky interior, exhibiting a flawless grill that enhanced the freshness of the fish. The beef and chicken kobidah, a novel venture for us, proved to be an exciting discovery of flavors, textures, and the essence of Afghan culinary traditions. The accompaniments were more than just sides. The rice was cooked to a perfect fluffiness, each grain dancing with the flavors of the grill. The green spicy sauce added a zing that elevated the taste to an exhilarating level. And to soothe the fired taste buds, a light cardamom tea, served on the house, was a serene finale to our gastronomic adventure. The bill was a pleasant surprise, underscoring the value offered by Grill Kabob Xpress. With a total under $30, the quality and quantity of the fare were unmatched, creating a compelling reason for a revisit, especially given the respectful approach to tipping, devoid of any automated suggestions that often dampen the dining experience elsewhere. Grill Kabob Xpress isn't just a meal; it's a journey through the rich culinary landscape of Afghanistan, right in the heart of Manassas. With its genuine hospitality, delectable grills, and a homely ambiance, it invites you to a delightful expedition of tastes and aromas.
