The serving sizes are generous and the flavours are refreshingly different to your stock standard Indian food and moorish. The staff here put so much effort into making sure you have a good experience and are lovely. Will definitely be returning!
I visited this restaurant at 9.36 p.m. in November and had a take away veg samosa for $8 a Pindi Chole for $14 and plain rice $3.00 reasonable cost, but one one table occupied and took forever to get my take away. It was not that tasty and I think the ingredients rather too hot and spicy for me. It was just not anything I would rush back to. Just your hipster style cement modern restaurant with no atmosphere, nor Indian style traditional décor. They seemed run off their feet but one staff taking orders and to me nothing else happening. Heaven forbid if they had a full restaurant. There seemed to be a mix up with one of the Uber delivery drivers who just ended up cancelled his order. I just sat and watched and waited, and then finally got my meal. Was not worth the walk up from where I was staying I am not a local a real disappointment. I could not finish it as something just not quite right in the ingredients. You won't see me again sorry.
I have eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants previously and I really love the food here! You can actually taste every spice and flavour of the dish rather than just being over powered by one ingredient! Beautiful food and very well balanced! There is a large vegetarian selection which I also amazing and delicious! The staff are all very warm, friendly and polite! The price is a bit more expensive than other Indian restaurants in the area but that is okay this place doesn’t want to be the cheapest and I think the food quality is with the price!
We have been to Punjabi by Nature a number of times since they opened a couple of years ago. We also order for delivery occasionally. On this visit, I made a booking for 4 of us at 8:30pm on Halloween; the booking was not necessary. As usual, the food was great, however the wine that we wanted to order was not available. The lone front of house staff person struggled a bit with our food order as well as with the drinks order. This is not uncommon in this establishment. Overall, we will continue to visit as the food is great.
This might be the best Indian food I've ever had in Melbourne. Very large quantities and all so very tasty, supplied by delightful staff who work hard to make your visit enjoyable. I would recommend sitting at the front of the restaurant if you don't want to get too distracted by the big TV with flashing Bollywood clips on it, but I have nothing bad to say about this place, can't wait to eat it all again!
