Hudson Garden Grill - BRONX

We visited for the Orchid Show in early April and made a reservation here because there were no tables available during our last visit to NYBG. The interior was stunning. We were quickly seated against the wall, and the view through the windows was simply gorgeous! The food and cocktail menus offered a nice variety. I ordered the grilled octopus, which was cooked to perfection—tender and flavorful. My husband had the Hudson burger, and it was delicious as well. The service was friendly and efficient. The kids' meals came out first, which was great because no one wants to deal with hungry little ones. We ordered the burger, the soup of the day (clam chowder), and a salade niçoise. Everything was just right. The portion sizes for both kids and adults were generous, and most importantly, the food was delicious. The staff checked on us regularly, and the service was seamless throughout our meal. This restaurant exceeded my expectations. I had anticipated that they might cater to a captive audience without much effort, but I was very pleased with our experience and look forward to returning in the future.

I absolutely love this place! If you're visiting the botanical garden, it's a must-visit! The open kitchen is welcoming, and the seating area is cozy and comfortable. The food is fresh and delicious. We tried the burger, mahi mahi, and the sweet potato fries, and everything was fantastic!

The first time I was here I loved the place but I can't say the same this time. Our salad and pasta was a little too salty. Our waiter left us for 30 minutes after our food was served. We were literally sat there waiting for him to take our coffee and dessert order. We had to waive down another waitstaff for help. It sure can't handle the volume of customers when we were there. The place is always nice and clean. It is a very relaxing atmosphere.

Located inside the New York Botanical Garden, it is one of the pricier dining choices, but it's very convenient and air-conditioned on a hot summer day. The quality of the food here is mediocre at best. The grilled chicken was overly salty, the fries tasted like it was fried in old oil, and while the burger is passable, it's overwhelmed by an excessive amount of bacon bits, making rendering every bite quite salty. The beverage glasses for our drinks were visibly dirty, with unidentifiable black specks. Even the water they served us in the blue cups was tainted with oil. On a positive note, the ambiance was pleasant, and the service was friendly.
