Soul Bistro - Brisbane

I had a really bad experience here. I decided on trying some of the tapas dishes and was disappointed with all of them. Some of the dishes I couldn't even eat. The only positives of the night were the excellent service and the nice homemade lemonade.

Who rated this joint for 4.7? Nothing special about this joint. I'm disappointed. People, somehow this joint ended with 4.7 but only friends are rating then. I'm sorry.

Soul bistro had a great friendly atmosphere our waitress and the owner were both all to happy to tell us about the different options they had on the menu. The tapas plates we shared are probably the best I've had!

Soul Bistro is tucked away in the Milton shops, it has outdoor and indoor seating. As soon as we arrived we are offered indoor air conditioned seating, which we excepted happily. The menu is diverse and you can choose between a breakfast/ brunch menu or Tapas with dishes $10. We decided on some tapas and choose chicken and prawns San choi bowl, crispy spicy fried chicken and Haloumi, mint and carrot fritters, yes a very diverse menu of taste and flavours. It was almost a mix of Deep South US and Asian influences, but it works. I would also recommend the sweet potatoe in soy bean batter, really great as a side. All the dishes had there own dipping sauces and they were really flavorsome. With great service and a nice relaxing feel, this is a great little place to eat and enjoy some great diverse tastes.

We were greeted by the owner who sat us under the aircon. He presented the specials in a very informative and comprehensive way. He clearly understands and cares about his food. I ordered the sticky lamb ribs with a cinnamon pear & pistachio salad. The ribs were so tender and full of flavour! The cinnamon pear salad was a great accompaniment to balance out the flavours. The creme brûlée was great also but not as smooth as others I've had. It still had a nice flavour and consistency though.
