After much research we reached out to Federico at Grape Therapy and he was amazing in organising all aspects. Our team and clients were entertained by Sommelier Sebastien who was incredibily engaging. A week later and my colleagues are still raving about how amazing it was. We will be booking again!
I made contact with the team for a virtual wine tasting as a team building activity. Federico was so quick to respond and organised delivery to multiple people in multiple states without a fuss. Even with restrictions in place, the wine arrived and it was great. Sebastian was a great host and really took the time to explain the wines in detail, in a way that we could all understand. Some wine tastings can be elitist but this wasn't that at all. All of the team felt relaxed and said they learned a lot. It's not easy doing it over Zoom but it was a really nice experience.
We recently dined at Grape Therapy. We really wanted to love this place but unfortunately had an average experience. We waited too long for our initial drink order to be taken. Then we ordered a $50 cheese and charcuterie platter which was underwhelming, and accompanied by 3 grissini and a handful of wafer crackers. Frankly we have just had better experiences at other wine bars in Brisbane.
We went there last weekend, and let's start by saying that from the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out, we were treated like VIP. The bartender (s were immensely knowledgeable (they explained the difference between different types of wine, origin, etc and the Tapas style menu was to die for. We didn't want a big dinner, so we ordered a few of the Tapas (Beetroot salad, Bruscheta, and Cheese&meat platter , and they were a-ma-zing. I should mention I am coeliac and they couyld make all tapas Gluten Free ! They also offer larger bites (pizzas and pastas from the Italian restaurant upstairs. The friendliness of the staff, the great service, and the quality of the food and wines (we finished with two glasses of Rockford Basket Press 2001!! it was some of the very best we found in our week in Brisbane. If you're in town, give this wine and whisky bar a try : it will not disappoint!!!
I love trying new venues, and was excited to try Grape Therapy using a GroupOn voucher, but when attempting to book I found the owner of the venue to be incredibly pretentious, dismissive and unhelpful. There are so many amazing venues that go above and beyond in their customer service, and they are the ones worthy of patronage, but the venue owner was patronising and rude to me, not the customer service experience I'd expect, nor recommend for future patrons. I passionately believe customer service forms a crucial part of the hospitality experience and I hope this review helps reflect my personal negative experience with this aspect of the venue. With so many great venue options nearby I would definitely choose elsewhere.
