Town Hall Bakery - Brighton

Great little bakery and duck bread shop! The pies and sweets are good too.

Saturday afternoon in Sandagate , in need of Coffee and a Snack. The Town Hall Bakery is nestled in the historic part of Sandgate surrounded by early 20th and probably late 19th. Century buildings. The tables on the footpath has excellent views of the Old Town Hall and Remembrance Park plus many other buildings of interest and character.The Bakery /Cafe is small but welcoming , The selection of cakes and pastries is excellent, the service comes with a big smile and a lot of consideration for the customer.I chose a sausage roll and my wife a pastry, both were of excellent quality. As somewhat of a connoiseur of pies , sausage rolls etc., for some decades , I rate the sausage rolls as A1 quality. Coffee was ok but needs a bit of work.If I was a local this would be my local snack stop. Just have to drop in whenever passing.

Good spot for a quick lunch or morning/afternoon tea. Small number of tables on the footpath. Very casual setting. Lovely, old style cakes - apple slice, fruit slice, apple turnovers etc. Visitors to the area could check out the lovely Town Hall, Memorial Park, the beautiful ex-Post Office and then enjoy a tea or coffee and snack at The Town Hall Bakery - all in a very small area.

The bakery is opposite Sandgate's lovely old town hall and has outside seats where you can sit and enjoy a cuppa and some of the bakery's food. We were there too late for the pies which are said to be quite good. Instead we ordered some freshly made bread rolls and took these down to the foreshore to eat. The cake cabinet has a variety of the usual suspects you would expect at a local bakery. There is off-street parking in front of the bakery.

The best pie I have ever eaten! I love their cheese pie and fresh cream donut! They also make delicious sandwiches and sausage rolls. The staff is very attentive and friendly.
