The Bandstand - Brighton and Hove

Food was good and served quickly Poor score relates to cleanliness and hygiene. The toilet was absolutely disgusting. I needed to change my baby and even with his own mat to put down I wouldn’t consider putting him in the changer. It’s only available to customers so there is no excuse at all for the state we found it in

After a stroll along the seafront, we popped in The Bandstand Cafe for some lunch. After some deliberation we both ended up having the Croque Monsieur (I had the goats cheese version), rather than standard sandwiches. They were both absolutely amazing! They were a generous portion and used fresh sourdough (I think) bread, along with a tasty side salad. It was absolutely to die for, and we will be returning to have it again in the future. I must also praise the waiter as he was super friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this place.

Great location, the food is delicious, great selection of drinks, I had an iced coffee, perfect for a sunny day and the service is speedy friendly staff. 100% recommend.

My wife and I visited this restaurant just before lunchtime. It was mostly empty, with only a few tables occupied by a small number of customers. We attempted to sit at a four seat table with benches, but were told by a woman, possibly the manager, that we were not allowed to sit there. We complied and chose a small two seat table instead. The waitress placed a large cutlery sauces receptacle on the table, taking up a significant amount of space. We decided to move to our original choice of seating, despite the waitress's objections. The food we ordered, a burger and chips for me and a toasted sandwich for my wife, was tasty. However, the unfriendly service from the staff negatively affected our experience. When it came time to pay, I mentioned that I would be leaving a review on Tripadvisor. A young, hostile employee followed us outside and berated us for sitting in an unapproved seating area. This final interaction solidified our decision to never return to this establishment. I hope they reflect on their treatment of customers and remember that without us, they would not be in business.
