Showing a family friend around Brisbane, they announced that they would live a good feed of Fish Chips.<br/ I took a leap of faith and decided to check out Swampdog just behind Southbank on Vulture Street.<br/ Parking was difficult, but the parking fairies were on my side for once and we eventually found a park in this difficult area of South Brisbane.<br/ We decided to order the Yummy Tummy pack for $22.50 and a few extra prawn cutlets.<br/ We sat outside at one of the tables under an umbrella and enjoyed the sunshine while we wait for our meal. When they gave us our order, it looked and tasted amazing.<br/ The whiting fillets were very tasty, but the star of the meal were the amazing prawn cutlets. So juicy and the batter seemed to be almost like a tempura.<br/ The salt pepper squid was very very SALT PEPPER! <br/ Now, I usually feel like **** after eating all that greasy food, but after this meal I was content but not feeling like I just swallowed a bucket of sludgy oil!<br/ If I want fish and chips the next time I am around Southbank or West End, I know where to head! <br/ The only thing that disappointed me was the menu board was poorly presented, and it felt a like the place needed a bit of a clean up or reno, but the product was amazing.<br/
Yummo barramundi battered like I've never had. The batter was extremely thin and crispy with the perfect amount of salt. The portions were overly generous for me and I ended up leaving nearly all of the chips. I would have preferred the chips to be cooked longer, but that is my preference-should have asked. Time for a nap now with a full belly on a rainy Brisbane day.
Always awesome! The Cajun fish is my favourite with the chips and Greek salad. It's so big, you could share it with someone and order a little something else to split. Love the lemonade!
Always interesting and fabulous food. In addition Richard is practically a national treasure to sustainable fishing and bringing it to the city. Bless you.
