Whistle Stop Ice Cream Shop - Bourne

Whistle Stop Ice Cream Shop is close to the rental I rented for a week. Whistle Stop is a cute looking ice cream shop. It is inside a building. The building is small. The building has seating area, a designated line that you are supposed to go through if you want to order. The seating area is small unfortunately. Waiting for your ice cream is poor. There is no place to stand if you are not going to sit. The ice cream itself is good. Average at best though. The moose tracks is good. The peanut butter cups are a bit too powerful and are too hard. They crack and do not have the peanut butter taste like real peanut butter. The chocolate swirl is there clearly but is not taste present wise. The vanilla does not show up. The appeal of the serving is a basic cup and a schlep of ice cream. There is no care. The only good thing about this place is if you just want ice cream and do not care where it is from.

Their ice cream IS very good, not as crowded as other place in town...which I DO love too however I will say, ice cream is not as CREAMY. (Pros and cons on that) I did have an experience of not getting the correct change (I should have counted as it was significant) however the manager was very gracious and reimbursed me what was owed a couple of days later. We will return!!!

Awesome flavor tons of candied pecans and my dog had his own doggie ice cream with a biscuit. What a great way to enjoy after a nice hike around the trails.

So the ice cream here is good. However, the guy that us, I think is the owner, was talking smack against the Bruins. Maybe he isn't from here and doesn't understand our love of our sports teams, but was very disrespectful for a New England business.

To make matters worse, she then proceeded to fulfill four other orders before finally getting back to mine, and when she handed me my cone, it was hot—causing my ice cream to melt and the cone to become mushy. I had actually seen another employee making a waffle cone and letting it cool, so it felt like this woman was just rushing through the process on purpose. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish it because it was too messy. It’s not like the place was packed like a Starbucks at 7 a.m.—there was no need to rush. You work in an ice cream parlor, after all; it should be a chill environment, right? I apologize for my frustration; I’m just finding it difficult to write this review with sticky fingers!
