Restaurant la Sagouine - Bouctouche

I've been here twice, both times in the summer eating on the deck. The service was great, the food good, and the atmosphere nice.

We brought my cousin and his wife at this restaurant to celebrate Acadian Day on August 15th and we ate homemade acadian dish for lunch consisting of poutine rapee,chicken fricot,homemade rolls,blueberry pie. Food was declicious and sewrvice was very friendly,polite and receptive to our needs. Overall atmosphere was super as acadian celebration was at its best.

The only thing that I can say positive about this restaurant is that the waitstaff was excellent. I order the Fish Dinner at $10:99 and received 25 fries (including the broken ends) and three EXTREMLY small pieces of under cooked slimy battered fish. In fact the amount of fish was less than I would have received in a McDonald Fish Sandwich. When I paid for this meal the Cashier did not ask if I have enjoyed my meal, so I told her how disappointed I was with the meal. No surprise that she only said that she would let the cook know.Never again.

I did not know much about Acadian cuisine, but this was a good intro. Both my wife and I ordered the frisot de dinde which is a very thick soup. Very tasty but not very spicy. The rest of the menu looked good but we were not overly hungry.Service was very friendly and the price was good. The restaurant itself is not particularly fancy, but it does seem authentic.Enjoy

Had a terrible experience as a first timer visit the place. There were six of us ( including 2 children). The restaurant was full when we got there. The waitress told us to wait outside instead of inside. We were the only customer waiting at that time. After waiting for 45 mins outside, we were seated. We were told that 6 out of 7 Acadian food were sold out by the time we ordered the food by the waitress. She was pretty annoyed when we displayed disappointment as we waited for 45 mins outside. Anyhow, we decided to stay and ordered other Candaian food on the menu. Again, we waited another 40 mins for our food to be served on the table. My poor children only ordered spaghetti, I had to tell the waitress to bring it as my kids have been waiting almost 1.5 hour for thier dinner. At that time, there were only 3 tables of party left in the restaurant. I don't know why it took that long for our food to be served. And then our food came- spaghetti and steak wrap with rice were SUPER SALTY !!! My 7 yrs old who loves any kind of spaghetti refused to finished his food as its very salty and the noold was not cooked right. I would not recommend this place to anyone !
