Still giving 5 start because it's usually the best Chinese place but not tonight it wasn'tI go in and order and they say it's 15-20 minutes (normal wait time from when you place the order) which was really surprising since it was incredibly busy.I go and wait outside with some others and every so often they open the doors and call for a nameAfter about 10 minutes theres a seat to wait for inside so I sit and waitAnother 30 minutes goes by and they guy next to me (who got there not too long AFTER me) gets up to ask how much longer his was. Turns out his order was right there on the table. They never called his name. This prompts me to ask about mine which was ALSO on the table. It was basically room temperature when I got it Again this isn't the normal experience, they were packed and they're usually really good at calling out names/uber orders etcPlease invest in a heat box to keep people's food hot
It was a quiet night when we dined in on Tuesday, but the takeaways were buzzing. We ordered three dishes between the two of us. Mongolian Beef, BBQ pork in plum sauce, and salt and pepper pork spare ribs. My husband can't eat onion and it is often a drama to get food in restaurants without it, but the waitress took careful note of our request and everything was fine. The waitress was friendly and efficient. She is definitely an asset to the business. The s&p pork was the winner, with crispy thin batter and tender meat. The Mongolian was tasty, and the beef was also tender. The plum sauce was also good, with lots of different vegetables. The fact that they are BYO was the icing on the cake.
Although the waiter was friendly all the rest left a lot to be desired. For a restaurant that charges these sorts of prices you would expect the food to be at least half decent and especially the sauces to be made by the kitchen and not to be served cheap bought sauces Starting from the top beverages can of coke taken away and opened and poured into a class in the kitchen so you don’t know what you really get keep the can and pour the glass from a bottle). Proper service dictates that the can and the glass be brought to the table. Chinese tea for one, two tea leaves in pot with one small cup of hot water poured in, shameful As i said sauces were bought in bulk and not made by the chef. I have had enough experience around the world eating in restaurants to know the difference and am a chef to boot. Only decent dish was the chicken nest , special fried rice was give or take enough for one and the sweet pork lost all points with the sweet/sour sauce not being home made. Decided to call,l it quits without the desert and being as they knew our dissatisfaction with the evening no attempt was made to remedy by at least taking the desert off the set menu price. The quality of the food is certainly not to any restaurant level but belongs at the most in a food court of a shopping centre. Don’t recommend it and will certainly not be going back.
We called in here for lunch during the week. This was our first visit here, there was only one other customer dining in. Decor was very nice and the background music was very relaxing. We received a warm, friendly welcome. We were given the full menu and the lunch special menu. We chose from the full menu, fried dim sims and small prawn omelette. The dim sims were very nice, crispy batter and tasted delicious, more sauce would have been nice. Our omelette was not served in the traditional Chinese way, usually 3 layers, this was one dinner plate size. It tasted very nice however much more sauce over the top was needed. Nice lunch, we would recommend this restaurant
