I have never written a review on a meal out before, but feel obliged to. Myself, my sister and my friend go out weekly for a meal and are always looking for different places to try. This was by far the worst food yet. We all went for the pie, they had the steak and I opted for the chicken and bacon (not that i saw a deal of chicken). The menu says shortcrust pastry on top?? It was brown almost cake like, sweet but greasy tasting. Everything had not a deal of flavour at all, even the peas!! Ate as much as I could but it was very sickly so could not finish it. When she came to collect our plates we all told her that it wasn 't nice at all, her reply was oh . She couldn 't have cared less. I would have thought that someone in charge would have came over to asked what wasn 't right, but no. I gave one star for the drinks, the lattes and wine were lovely. If you want to spend £15/16 on pie, chips and peas then go to a chippy! It will be so much nicer and cost you half that. Don 't waste your money.
Been here loads of time but this was one to forget. The room was cold it was over 20 mins before our order was taken and we had to ask. We wanted a roast dinner but there was only pork on offer and it was dried out, as was the mash. If this is the new standard it probably explains why it was empty at 7.30. We didn't risk a sweet, and we did tell the waitress, which I don't do as a rule too english!!
Great pub, lovely food and beer and friendly helpfull staff. Food was plentifull and tasty, beer was well kept, and the 4 staff that served me were all friendly and helpful, what more could you want?
Lovely pub with good food and waiting staff. The visit was spoiled by the manager, who was rude and clearly had no customer service training. My daughter had booked a dog friendly table by phone, however we were told she had not done so and that the person who took the booking 'does not make mistakes. ' There was no apology or acknowledgement that this could have been their error. No alternative was offered and we were left feeling very uncomfortable, standing at the entrance deciding what to do. As we were meeting family for a Christmas get together we were unable to go elsewhere, and ended up leaving the dog in the car, which we were unhappy with as we would not have taken him if we had not booked a dog friendly table. A simple apology would have gone a long way.
