Friendship Oriental Seafood Restaurant

Food is very good, authentic HK style. What always surprise me when dinner out in Sydney is the price, excellent value! Service is very HK style too: efficient while impersonal. We all like it!

Passing thru, and we stopped at a pretty diverse little suburban restaurant strip along King Georges Rd. We chose this place as it was the busiest along the strip and that's usually a good indicator. It was.Old style local chinese restaurant, plain dated 80's interior but crowded with locals - majority at large tables enjoying meals, sharing plates, steam boats etc.Family owned and staffed (ask the waiter/son/Sydney Uni Student), not overtly friendly but once you strike up a conversation the service improves. The meals are very large, fresh vegetables etc (though the prawns were the imported frozen type - but still good).Reasonably priced for the offering and great quality.

Use to be a favourite place for dinner with family years ago.Visited recently and were utterly disappointed and baffled by such rude service. Firstly, we were seated near the entrance even when there were plenty of other tables inside which hadn't been booked. It took a really long time for someone to take our order and it seemed like they didn't want to provide any kind of service when they realised that we weren't going to order crab or lobster or abalone. When we wanted to order some more food the waiter gave us an annoyed look and spoke to us ever so rudely it was cringeworthy. To make matters worse the food came out just warm and not steaming hot like it should have. We will never again visit this restaurant nor recommend it to anyone. Why waste you time when there are plenty of other great restaurants with friendlier service!

My title says it all. Dont bother. I used to visit often with friends. Last visit was horrible. Never again!
