The food was quite good (see photos), although two of the four dishes had sauces that were slightly burnt. The serving sizes are generous, so you'll definitely leave feeling satisfied. My partner absolutely loved the garlic bread! Overall, it's a fun place with great food and lovely staff that contribute to a wonderful evening.

Rural and rustic, the Mallee Fowl is definitely worth the trip! With a genuine blue Aussie theme, the restaurant is adorned with vintage memorabilia that creates a charming atmosphere. But don't be fooled by the casual setting; this place serves elegantly presented dishes that are not only delicious and satisfying but also cooked to perfection.

When we arrived, we were the only guests there—it was a weekday—but we couldn't have felt more at home! A lovely lady served us; she was warm, friendly, and efficient. The atmosphere and thematic decor were fascinating, providing plenty of conversation starters, and we likely missed many interesting details. Now, onto the food. We started with the dips, which were far from the usual hummus and beetroot varieties. Instead, we enjoyed a carrot and Australian pepperberry dip, a bush tomato chutney, and a macadamia dip served with homemade Lavosh-style crackers featuring pepperberry. It was absolutely a 10 out of 10! For the main course, we each had a burger, which were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The chef even customized my daughter's burger, which she devoured quickly. The restaurant had excellent air conditioning, a relief on a hot day, and offered a nice selection of wines and beers. Overall, this is an incredibly interesting place that’s a must-visit, especially for international guests. As a fifth-generation Aussie, I truly enjoyed it and appreciated the good Aussie music playing in the background. Highly recommended! The service was exceptional, with friendly staff who genuinely cared about ensuring our satisfaction, even though they were incredibly busy attending to a large number of customers. At one point, the owner came out to greet us, which added a special touch to our wonderful evening.
