Spindler - Berlin

It's a must. every time I come to berlin, I try to have at least one visit in this beautiful pearl of a restaurant in kreuzberg. also kreuzberg is not my favorite part of berlin, the street and especially this restaurant is an oasis for me. in the hectic berlins. awesome food, all fresh and highest quality, excellent choice of weeping and beautiful atmosphere.

Spindler is on one of Berlin's most beautiful streets along the canal. Sitting outside in Summer is so beautiful. Beautiful people, big beautiful green trees. Lots of action on the canal. It's nice to have cocktails in the sun. The cocktails on the weekends are...really good. The steak is really great! Most of the food is nice. Very expensive, but nice. Only thing is, the staff. There's an older lady, the floor manager who will stress you out every time. She is forgetful, anxious, running around like mad, and always makes you feel uncomfortable. There's another young girl who is down right rude, and has on a number of occasions forgotten things from our order, blamed the kitchen, bitched about them to us, and still charged us for it. Last week I just had enough. Might be back next summer if they are not! https

We came back and it was great like in the beginning! Great service, good food, better wines than before. Thank you for a great night out! We come back!

We visited on Valentine’s evening and had a fantastic meal. The restaurant is very pretty and had been decorated tastefully with roses and heart balloons. The food was really lovely. We ordered the duck and pork belly for mains. Unfortunately the pork belly wasn’t right...for us as it’s served luke warm in the middle, but it was changed for another duck very quickly when we asked our waiter was brilliant. We had a lovely meal and despite the time limit on the table we weren’t rushed. We did have difficulty finding the restaurant, so I would look out for the number which is lit up above the door. The restaurant doesn’t have a lit up sign we could see from the road. So as it was dark we walked past a few times thinking it was a continuation of the place next door!

Visited on valentines night. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff and excellent food. Highly recommended.
