My wife and I stumbled across reviews for this restaurant whilst looking for inspiration on our last night in Berlin. We were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem. Follerei is away from the main tourist hotspots in Berlin, as such we were surrounded by locals,...which is a good thing! The staff were warm and accommodating and the lady present on the day was more than happy to translate the menu for us! Food was innovative and cooked to a high standard. There were a range of dishes varying from traditional German to more pan-European. Wine is served in rustic carafes which, although not everyone's cup of tea, reminded me of lovely childhood holidays in Greece. If you are looking for a laid-back restaurant with high quality food and a little off the beaten track then I would thoroughly recommend this place.
We had an amazing night in this little and cozy restaurant, the food is super tasty, well prepared, and everything is homemade; the service is friendly and fast. Will definitely return! It seems to be one of the last institutions in Neukölln, cause the restaurant...is open since years.
I guess I am not so keen on the strong flavours of German cuisine. We came here for some real German food while we were in Berlin, and I suppose we got it. My sausage was very peppery, the saurkraut and potatoes quite salty. I...was surprised in a trendy looking restaurant that the food seemed very old fashioned. But there are some good vegan and vegetarian options and the beer was good value. Decor sparse and chairs uncomfortable for a long evening with slow service not a problem for us but might be for others.
One of these small and bright restaurants popping up in Neukölln. We didn't know what to eat so we decided just to take a walk in the neighborhood and found this gem. A small but intriguing menu, engaging service and reasonable prices made our evening...a memorable one. If you would like to label the kitchen, maybe local, european with a twist.
