My friends had come first and were mostly done eating by the time I arrived. Service was super slow, had to ask for an English menu which took forever to come, and then getting a waiter to place an order took forever as well. I got the mixed plate and a pork chop along with a lychee Bionade. The Bionade and cabbage that came with my mixed plate were served relatively quickly, and then probably after about ten minutes, my single pork chop came on a plate by itself. It was super flavor and delicious, and I was looking forward to my mixed plate. Unfortunately, after around half an hour of waiting, it never came. My friend asked about it, and turns out they forgot to place my order. By that time, I was tired and not really hungry anymore, so we canceled the order. Disappointing. Need to fix the service.
Gyro pitas stuffed with fries?! The idea is genius. Maybe it's a common thing to see in Greek restaurants throughout Europe, but I've never eaten anything of the sort in my city. Naturally, I was in awe; plus, I was hungry after a loooooong plane ride. The Gyro Pita was what I ordered for under €4.Tomatoes, onions, gyro meat, Tzatziki sauce, and fries were all wrapped in a warm, soft pita bread. Ingredients are fresh and organic. I can truthfully say that it was one of the best gyros I've eaten (that's not the plane ride talkin'! . The meat was tender and spiced just right. And those fries were a great addition. Furthermore, I enjoyed how everything wasn't overly salted, especially the fries. Berkis is a fantastic little find in the neighborhood of Schöneberg. It's the perfect place to grab some lunch or dinner to-go if you're cravin' some Greek food.
The pita gyros is good but I think it is a bit overpriced. Also as a Greek person I found it rather small with not so much of a sauce. Still, the service is really friendly and the fact that you can find some Greek refreshments (try lemonade if you are a fan of lemonade is for me a plus :
I often eat lunch here when I am working in this area. This is a great place for that, the sandwiches are fairly inexpensive and they are made from good...
Fantastic Pita Gyros, I'd even say better than most in Greece. Try the Chicken and Lamb Souvalki Pitas, and for the vegetarians the Halumi Pita is just as good
