Pizza Pirate - Benicia

I can only give this restaurant 4 stars because it isn't fully vegan, but the vegan pizza I ordered definitely deserves 5 stars! I loved every aspect of it, especially the crust and the freshness of the toppings. I also appreciated that when building your own pizza, there’s no extra charge for vegan cheese versus dairy cheese. If management happens to read this review, I’d like to mention that they also offer Impossible meat on their menu. I would absolutely love to see a vegan protein option available for my pizza!

The food was excellent; I ordered the calzone. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Good solid tasty pizza, fresh ingredients, good selection of pizza combinations with medium thick crust. Fun atmosphere for kids, a local hangout with good customer service.

Read great reviews about this place so we drove out and ordered the Walk The Plank pizza and a regular salad. The chicken is claimed to be marinated in their creamy garlic sauce. Chicken tasted like plain unseasoned chicken. The garlic sauce was on the pie and had no garlic taste. It also said to have garlic on the topping, no garlic. The Italian sausage was flavorful and there was no cornmeal on the bottom of the pie which was wonderful, old school pies didn't use cornmeal. They also have a service charge for using a credit card.

We hosted a gathering in their private party room, and it was a fantastic experience. Jessica did an incredible job catering to our group, making the entire event stress-free! The food was delicious, and all the staff were friendly and eager to help.
